You are reading this because we contacted you about an engineering role and you did not give us your details yourself. Article 14 of the GDPR says we have to tell you where we got them, what we do with them, and how to make us stop. That is all this page is.

Who we are

Gaia Talent Ltd, a recruitment agency registered in Ireland. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at the address on gaiatalent.ie.

What we hold

Your name, current job title and employer.
Your professional background — chartership, discipline, years of experience, named projects — as stated in public documents.
A work email address and/or LinkedIn profile URL.
The source document behind each of the above, so any statement we hold about you can be traced to where it came from.

We do not hold your date of birth, your address, your salary, or anything in the special categories of Article 9.

Where we got it

Public sources only:

Your employer's own published team, project and news pages.
Public planning and consent records — principally oral-hearing documents published by An Coimisiún Pleanála, where engineers give evidence under their own name.
Professional and industry publications that name you as an author or as the engineer on a project.
A contact-data provider, which supplied a work email address and/or a LinkedIn URL from business-contact records.

We did not take anything from a private profile, a closed group, or a paid CV database, and nobody referred you to us.

Why we are allowed to

Our legitimate interest in matching qualified engineers to relevant roles, under Article 6(1)(f). We assessed that against your interests: the data is professional rather than personal, it was already public, the contact is a single approach about work in your own field, and you can end it in one word.

How long we keep it

Twelve months from our first contact, unless you reply and ask us to keep it longer while we work together. If you do not reply, we delete it at twelve months without asking again. If you tell us to stop, we delete it immediately, apart from the minimum record needed to make sure we do not contact you again.

Who else sees it

Nobody, unless you tell us to. We do not send your details to a client before you have agreed to that specific role. Our email and applicant-tracking providers process data on our behalf under contract.

Your rights

Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
Have it corrected if it is wrong.
Have it erased.
Object to us processing it at all — and because we rely on legitimate interest, an objection means we stop.
Ask us to restrict processing, or to port your data elsewhere.

Reply to any message from us and say what you want. We will action it within one month and it costs you nothing.

The one-word version: reply STOP to any message and we erase your details and never contact you again. You do not have to explain and we will not ask.

Complaints
